Lucy Stanbridge, an ambitious editor, takes over her father's boutique publishing house. However, things don't go quite as she hoped. Lucy, a teenage book publisher, is on the verge of bankruptcy. Just then, she finds an old contract inside the dusty shelves. The contract states that the writer who made the company famous, Harris Shaw, owes the publishing house a book. Determined to take full advantage of technology, Lucy convinces the grumpy, old, alcoholic Harris to go on a book tour with hem, albeit with difficulty.
