Gladiator (2000)

Maximus, a general in Rome under the rule of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, is gradually rising in the hierarchical steps of the empire. The fact that his father favors this stranger named Maximus instead of favoring him also disturbs Commodus, the real heir to the throne. Commodus does not wait long to order the murder of Maximus and his family. Hardly surviving, Maximus is now sent to the arena to be trained as a gladiator. Maximus has only one desire in mind, to kill Commodus and take his family's revenge as soon as possible.
