The Tree of Life (2011)

Focusing on a Midwestern family in the 1950s, the film is about Jack's eldest son, Jack's transition from the loss of childhood innocence to a bitter adult stage. During this transition period, the turbulent father-son relationship with his father (Brad Pitt) sits at the center of the story. Jack's maturity (Sean Penn) is now an individual who has lost his way in the modern age. He tries to find the meaning of life while questioning the existence and dilemmas of fate.
